Registration for one week of Summer Recreation Camp, funded by the United Way of Tompkins. Activities include; recreation, adventure activities, arts, and swimming.

Week 5 will include a mid-week field trip to the Syracuse Museum of Science and Technology (MOST). This will NOT be an additional cost for this trip.

Trip outline: The camp will leave the Trumansburg MS at 9:00 am to arrive at the zoo at 10:45 am. The camp will leave the MOST at 2:15 and arrive back at the MS at 3:45 pm.

*With a 9:00 am departure, campers may be dropped off earlier at camp.

COHORTS AND PODS
Campers will be placed into pods during the week and the pods will be part of a larger cohort for traveling by bus. For the younger ages the pods will be 8-12 campers depending upon the week, and for the older groups the pods will be 12-15 campers.

ACTIVITY LOCATION SCHEDULE AND TRANSPORTATION:
Each day the camp will hold activities at the Trumansburg Middle School Gym/Fields/Cafeteria in the mornings (9am - 12:30pm) and will have activities and swimming at Taughannock Falls State Park in the afternoons (12:30-3:30pm). The campers will be transported by bus from the Fairgrounds to Taughannock and back. We will be using a combination of Trumansburg school buses and TCAT to transport campers to swimming each day. TCAT has created a special route from the village of Trumansburg to Taughannock that we will use on a daily basis. The camp will be split into two cohorts for transportation. The younger age cohort (typically 4-7) will travel on the school bus each day. The older cohort (typically 8-12)) will travel on the TCAT bus. Campers and staff will need to follow the transportation guidelines as set by each organization when traveling on the bus and protocols will be enforced in conjunction with state regulations for this type of transportation.

SWIMMING
The summer camp will utilize both Taughannock Falls State Park and the Watkins Glen State Park Pool for swimming each day/week. The primary location will be Taughannock Falls State Park, but for scheduling purposes, the camp may attend Watkins Glen on certain days because last minute changes are not possible. When HABS is present, or the threat of HABS (closed on the weekend, etc.), the camp will take buses to Watkins Glen.
